I love this photo and what it means to me and the people in it.
Last Sunday at EDGE, the high school ministry I work with, we experienced something incredible. Many of our leaders, as well as some students, had the opportunity to baptize over 90 students who had decided to make the commitment to follow Christ. It was an amazing night, and one where God was totally present in our auditorium.
This particular photo is of a sister who got the opportunity to baptize her younger brother. It was an amazing moment that had many people in the audience in tears.
Overall it was one of the best experiences of my life, and it was one night I will never forget. Baptism is an outward expression of the inward reality that a person is ready to live for Christ and have taken on the responsibility of living for Him. I am so proud of the students who made those choices, as well as of the staff that has been leading many of them over the last year.
I love that my job is all about advancing God’s kingdom.

My name is Ryan Scheidemantel and this is my blog.
